Position Title: 5th Grade Writing/Grammar Lead Teacher
Location: Lakeside Lower School ( 7655 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76123)
Reports To: Headmaster
FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt
Salary: starting at $40,000

Position Summary: The Lead/Master Teacher works closely with the Headmaster in overseeing and helping to develop elements of the curriculum of the school. About the K-5 Teacher Role:
As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning.
Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature.
As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
Required/Preferred Education: The Lead/Master Teacher must be veteran faculty who are both observed masters of their own subject matter, and a patient teacher and leader on the campus.
