Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Accessibility and Disability Resources and the Testing Center Coordinator, this position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the accommodated testing center. This includes daily tasks necessary to run the testing center, including scheduling exams, maintaining confidential records and calendars, responding to telephone and email inquiries from students, faculty, and staff, and proctoring exams. Candidates must be comfortable and/or have experience working with students with diversabilities, communication styles, mobility needs, and more.
Position Requirements:
BA required; current Master’s student preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of administrative work experience, OR a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
Knowledge of, and interest in, the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act in relation to their impact on higher education.
Requires excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Skills and Abilities:
Interact with confidential information, understand legal and ethical compliance issues within the Testing Center, possess and use discretion and good professional judgment; demonstrate ability to provide excellent customer service while also maintaining a commitment to policies and practices of the department and College.
Ability to positively interact with a diverse population.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to problem solve and find creative solutions in a fast paced, student centered, environment.
Ability to help students navigate challenging emotions related to testing and academic stress.
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
