Job Titl e AI Capability Learning & Development Manager / Senior Manager – dependent on experience Office Location Birmingham or London Department HLC Lead & Learn, Digital Learning & Development Working Hour s 35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Role Overview The AI Capability Learning & Development Manager / Senior Manager will lead the development and operationalisation of the firm's AI skills framework and HLC Lead & Learn learning and development curriculum. Working with the Head of Digital Learning & Development and stakeholders across HLC Lead & Learn, Knowledge, Innovation, Legal Tech, practice groups and Business Teams, the role will translate the firm's AI priorities into structured, practical and role-relevant learning and development pathways. The role will ensure that AI learning and development becomes a coherent, maintainable and scalable capability system. This includes defining the skills required at different career stages, integrating AI into core learning and development programmes, developing reusable assets and establishing a consistent global delivery cadence Key Responsibilities Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program. AI skills framework and curriculum architecture Develop and maintain a clear, role-based AI capability framework for lawyers and Business Teams, with meaningful proficiency levels and observable capability expectations. Translate developments in AI, legal practice, client expectations and the firm's digital strategy into prioritised learning and development requirements. Maintain a firm-wide view of existing AI learning and development, identifying gaps, overlaps and opportunities to reuse or improve content. Design a modular curriculum that can be adapted across program, regions, practices and audiences. Embed responsible use, professional judgement, verification, information handling and appropriate human supervision throughout the curriculum. Establish a regular process for reviewing and refreshing the framework as tools, risks, workflows and business priorities evolve. Learning and development design, and delivery Lead the design and delivery of firm-wide HLC Lead & Learn AI learning and development curriculum; including developing role-relevant pathways for partners, associates, Business Teams and people leaders.
