WE ARE HIRING: Assistant HR Manager   Location: Sri Lanka Employment Type: Full Time Industry: Retail / Fashion Retail Role Overview   We are seeking a proactive and people-oriented Assistant HR Manager to support and strengthen the organization's human resource function. The successful candidate will play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, policy implementation, employee welfare, performance management, and compliance with labour regulations. This position requires a hands-on HR professional with strong interpersonal skills, sound knowledge of Sri Lankan labour laws, and the ability to effectively support employees and management in creating a productive and positive work environment.  Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage recruitment activities including candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding processes. Support hiring managers in identifying and attracting suitable talent for organizational requirements. Manage employee records, personal files, HR documentation, and related administrative functions. Administer payroll-related activities, employee benefits, and HR support processes. Review employee performance regularly and support performance management initiatives. Identify employee performance concerns and recommend appropriate corrective actions where necessary. Prepare reports relating to employment data, employee movements, and HR metrics. Conduct employee exit interviews and provide recommendations to improve employee retention. Prepare job descriptions, position openings, and recruitment-related documentation. Manage staff onboarding activities and employment agreement administration. Maintain and update employee databases and HR information systems. Implement and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization. Assist management in resolving employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace disputes. Support employee welfare, engagement, and communication initiatives. Handle labour-related matters while ensuring compliance with applicable employment legislation. Provide guidance to employees and management on HR policies and procedures. Candidate Profile Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or a related discipline. Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a similar HR capacity. Experience within the retail industry will be an added advantage. Strong knowledge of human resource administration and HR best practices. Sound understanding of Sri Lankan labour laws and employment regulations. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and HR systems. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity. Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
