South Island School is now recruiting an Assistant to join the Physical Education Department.
Responsibilities:
Manage all logistics of off-site sports fixtures and extra-curricular sports programmes (Email/VLE communication with parents and students, transport arrangements, venue booking)
Ensure PE facilities and equipment are organised and ready for lessons, and assist PE staff in lessons
Maintain an accurate inventory asset record for PE Department and ensure equipment is well maintained to meet the Health & Safety requirements
Assist PE Department in adhering to the School policies (Finance, HR, Procurement, etc.)
Provide administrative support to PE Department, including student tracking, absent list, time table revision, teaching group registry, etc
Publish the sports activities results and updates in the school newsletter, Year Book and website
Administer the registration for leagues, HKSSF, ISSFHK and attend meetings as required
Organise the inter-house sports programmes (including Athletics Day, Cross Country & Swimming Gala) and related logistics with equipment
Lead/accompany students to participate in inter-school leagues as when required (sometimes on weekends)
Supervision duties at sports venues/events as and when required.
Co-ordinate with overseas international school partners and activities administrator in organising students’ sports trips
Perform any other duties as and when assigned by Line Manager
Typical reporting relationship
Activities Co-ordinator / Head of PE &. Sports
Minimum typical education
Higher Diploma or Degree in PE or Recreational Management.
Coaching qualifications in areas of sports and physical activity preferred.
Minimum typical experience
Experience of working with and supervising children and/or providing sporting activities to children.
Abilities
Fluency in oral, written English, Cantonese/Mandarin preferred
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Other Microsoft Applications
Good communication and interpersonal skills, good collaboration with internal and external parties
Strong organisational skills and ability to group, compile and organise information for smooth running of various activities
High level of teamwork and initiative, a positive and engaging personality
Knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps) and have experience in the use of management systems is essential
General understanding on the operations for Recreational activities in secondary school
Core Soft / Transferable Competencies required
Excellent communication skills (with parents, students and staff)
Strong organisation skills and result oriented.
Customer Service
Book-keeping and basic accounting knowledge
Development / Training to support role competencies:
To be negotiated as part of the performance management process
