The Assistant Superintendent at Skanska supports on-site field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and profitably. Reporting to the Superintendent, the role requires regular on-site presence to supervise the labor force, enforce Skanska’s Safety and Health Management Program, conduct quality inspections, and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors. The position emphasizes leadership, organization, time management, and client-facing communication. Core responsibilities include day-to-day supervision of field crews, inspecting subcontractor work for contract compliance, developing and maintaining site logistics and short-term schedules, monitoring labor and material costs, preparing superintendent daily reports, and participating in project meetings. The Assistant Superintendent also reviews trade contractor payment applications with leadership, tracks change orders and tickets, and mentors team members to support an injury-free environment. They ensure the work is performed in a safe, timely, profitable, and ethical manner, in accordance with contract documents, design, budget, and schedule.
