Do you want to do more than just manage buildings - do you want to actively help shape the future of a campus? Then take on a key role in campus management at WHU’s Vallendar campus. Working directly with the Director of Campus Management, you’ll ensure that our buildings, technical facilities, and services operate reliably, that projects are implemented effectively, and that digital solutions measurably improve campus operations. This role combines operational responsibility with strategic autonomy in an international university setting.
This position is initially a one-year fixed-term contract with the potential to become extended or permanent.
Your mission
Operational management of key facility management activities at the Vallendar campus
Ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of buildings and technical facilities
Coordinating and monitoring maintenance and repair activities
Managing external service providers and ensuring high standards of quality and performance
Ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and timeline requirements
Supporting and coordinating construction, refurbishment, renovation, and maintenance projects
Continuously developing and optimizing facility management processes
Supporting energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
Acting as deputy to the Director Campus Management within the defined area of responsibility
Driving the digital transformation of Campus Management, particularly with regard to CAFM/IWMS systems
Your profile
Successfully completed vocational training in a skilled trade combined with an advanced technical qualification in building construction (e.g., state-certified construction technician), or a comparable technical qualification
Several years of professional experience in a position with significant responsibility, ideally including leadership experience and a background in Facility Management
Ideally, experience in project management and familiarity with a recognized project management methodology
Experience in coordinating teams and managing external service providers, as well as successfully delivering projects
A structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work, combined with strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively to different stakeholder groups
Ideally, experience with CAFM/IWMS systems as well as a strong interest in developing and continuously improving digital processes
Very good command of German and English, both written and spoken
