Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer who can support designing engineering components for medium voltage and high voltage switching equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our existing products while implementing necessary product and process improvements and resolving any emerging issues.
What will help you thrive in this role?
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
Minimum of 3-5 years of mechanical design experience (required).
Solid understanding of core mechanical engineering concepts and knowledge in engineering materials.
Capability of using all the features of 2D & 3D engineering design using Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor and SolidWorks.
Should have knowledge in creating drawings based on ASME Y14.5 standard.
Working knowledge in SAP ECM or any PLM software.
Hands-on experience in Autodesk Vault and SolidWorks PDM.
Hands-on experience in modeling and detailing structural steel, casting and sheet metal parts.
Proficient in analyzing and understanding structural engineering drawings.
Proficient in MS office tools.
Experience with PTC Windchill would be an added advantage.
Strong analytical skills and good verbal and written communication skills.

Collaborate with US counterparts to comprehend customer requirements and gather information from purchase orders to create engineer-to-order designs.
Designing parts that are feasible for manufacturing process like sheet metal fabrication, casting and plastics.
Set realistic targets and ensure drawings are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Create necessary documentation, part drawings, engineering bill of materials and assembly drawings as per relevant standards and specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including internal and external team members during design and approval process.
Manage Vault ECOs and SAP-based engineering change management process for production orders.
Good verbal communication and presentation skills to explain conceptual design to customers.
Manage own drawing schedule in a fast-paced environment while designing various product types.
