Job Description: Settlement Risk Management Position: Associate level Number of Positions: 01 Location: Mumbai Qualification: Graduate or MBA, preferably in Finance, Risk Management, Banking, Economics, or Data Analytics Experience: 3 to 6 years Role Summary The role is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks associated with payment clearing and settlement activities. The candidate will support settlement risk governance, policy development, risk monitoring, analytics, and implementation of risk-management tools. Key Responsibilities • Identify and monitor settlement-related credit, liquidity, operational, concentration, and participant default risks. • Monitor settlement exposures, risk limits, collateral adequacy, liquidity positions, breaches, and exceptions. • Develop and maintain settlement risk policies, procedures, risk indicators, dashboards, and management reports. • Support stress testing, scenario analysis, participant risk assessments, and default-management preparedness. • Recommend appropriate controls and mitigation measures to reduce settlement risk. • Provide oversight, review, and challenge to the First Line of Defense. • Assist risk owners in identifying key risks, control gaps, and corrective action plans. • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on the implementation and enhancement of GRC and risk-management tools. • Analyze risk data to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks. • Perform risk-governance activities and prepare updates for senior management and relevant committees. Risk Governance and Framework • Support the enhancement and implementation of the Settlement Risk Management Framework in line with the organization’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework and risk appetite. • Prepare and update risk policies, standards, process documents, operating procedures, risk registers, assessment reports, and governance materials. • Provide independent oversight, review, challenge, and advice to the First Line of Defense. • Assist Principal Risk Owners and Principal Risk Coordinators in identifying key risks, assessing mitigating controls, and developing action plans to address control gaps. • Undertake risk and control assessments and monitor the timely closure of agreed risk mitigation actions. • Prepare dashboards, management reports, committee presentations, and risk insights for senior management and relevant governance forums. • Perform risk governance activities, including committee coordination, action tracking, issue management, and maintenance of risk records. • Promote risk awareness and contribute to initiatives aimed at strengthening the organization’s risk culture. • Track relevant regulatory developments, industry trends, internal events, and external risk incidents, and assess their potential impact on clearing and settlement operations.
