We are looking for talented Backend Developers to join a digital delivery team working on services that make a real difference to people across the UK. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of developers, designers, product managers, delivery professionals and technical specialists to build, improve and maintain secure, scalable and reliable digital services used by millions of people. You will be responsible for designing and developing backend services and APIs, working with cloud-based technologies and serverless architectures to deliver robust and maintainable solutions. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful public-facing technology while contributing to the continued development of modern government digital services. Key responsibilities Design, develop and maintain high-quality backend services using TypeScript . Design and implement solutions using serverless architecture and cloud-native development principles. Develop and maintain applications and services using AWS , including AWS Lambda . Build secure, scalable and reliable APIs and backend services. Translate user and business requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions. Write clean, well-tested and maintainable code following modern software engineering practices. Work collaboratively with frontend and mobile developers, designers, product managers, QA professionals and other technical specialists within an agile multidisciplinary team. Participate in technical discussions, code reviews and architectural decision-making. Develop automated tests and contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.
