Backend Developer

This role is for one of Weekday’s clients Salary range: Rs 500000 - Rs 2000000 (ie INR 5 - 20 LPA) Min Experience: 5+ years Location: Pune, Maharashtra, India JobType: full-time We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer with 5–8 years of professional software development experience to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Golang, Microservices, and REST APIs , along with a solid understanding of distributed systems, database design, performance optimization, and software engineering best practices. You will work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to develop reliable backend services that support high-performance applications and business-critical workflows. Requirements Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain robust backend applications and services using Golang . Build and manage scalable microservices-based architectures with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and performance. Design, develop, and integrate secure and well-documented REST APIs for internal and external applications. Translate product and business requirements into efficient technical solutions and well-structured backend systems. Develop reusable, clean, and maintainable code following industry best practices and coding standards. Work with relational and NoSQL databases to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data consistency. Implement authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, logging, and monitoring across backend services. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, production issues, and complex technical problems. Write comprehensive unit, integration, and API tests to ensure software quality and reliability. Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, containerization, deployment, and production support. Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards, architecture, and development processes. Monitor application performance and proactively identify opportunities for scalability and optimization. Contribute to technical documentation, architecture decisions, and system design discussions. Must-Have Skills Golang: Strong hands-on experience developing production-grade applications and backend services using Go. Microservices: Proven experience designing and developing distributed, scalable microservices architectures. REST API: Strong understanding of REST principles and hands-on experience building, integrating, securing, and maintaining RESTful APIs. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented/design principles, and software engineering fundamentals.
