Requisition #: 20750 Functional Area:   Machine Operation Employment Type:   Full-Time Work Options:   In Office at Location Specified Above #LI-Onsite Work Hours:   Monday - Friday, 2:30 - 10:30 p.m. Position Summary The purpose of this position is to operate bindery finishing equipment in accordance with manufacturing standards and product specifications.  All levels will operate basic finishing equipment and are expected to operate at least one piece of major finishing equipment at the productivity standard. In this Lead Bindery Operator – Operates at least two pieces of major finishing equipment as a primary or back-up operator.  In addition, provides leadership within the team and assists the Associate Bindery Manager with on-going staff development and workload distribution. Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 2:30 - 10:30 p.m. Basic Finishing Equipment includes, but is not limited to: drill, single-head stitch, padder, Rosback perforator, shrink wrapper, riveter, carton erector, material handling equipment. Major Finishing Equipment includes, but is not limited to: Hamilton web collator, Didde web collator, MCT digital cutter, Col-Tec sheet collator, auto laminator, guillotine cutter, folder, Kugler, Horizon 5500 stitcher, Horizon perfect binder, Fin-Seal, and any of the Printing equipment. Job Responsibilities Examine job specifications to determine machine set-up, operating time and quantity to be finished and shipped. Set up and operate finishing equipment according to manufacturing standards and production specifications. Make adjustments to rectify registration or cut-off issues. Work with machine operators to set up equipment and performs assist duties during the operation of equipment as required.  Perform basic bindery functions such as gathering, jogging, hand collating, etc. according to manufacturing standards and production specifications.  Continually responsible for quality and quantity of finished product and follow all job checking procedures. Properly record time and materials for each individual job, as well as recording daily information utilizing automated data collection system. Handle routine daily and monthly maintenance as required. Work closely with the Manufacturing Maintenance staff on the preventive maintenance program as necessary. Work either of the two shifts as needed and work overtime as needed to meet production requirements. Lead - Additional Functions: Assists machine operators with resolving production related problems. Assists the Associate Bindery Manager with on-boarding and training activities. Assists the Associate Bindery Manager with scheduling work assignments. Reviews work completed by other operators to ensure jobs are run according to specifications. Qualifications Experience: 4+ years of machine operating experience Demonstrated ability to operate at least 2 major pieces of finishing equipment Prior leadership experience desired …
