Under broad supervision, responsible for simple tasks regarding the sales and marketing administration, planning, organization, and automation including managing the information systems of the department. Maintains the given optimal flow of orders. Assists with the administrative services of sales. Helps with the order processing and the relationships with clients for the administrative aspects of the sale (complaints, billing, deliveries, etc.). We’re creating a new Business Development Representative role to help build and grow our lead development program. This is a ground-floor position: the person in this seat will help shape the process rather than inherit one. What You’ll Do As a Business Development Representative, you’ll identify and qualify new business opportunities, partner with the outside sales team on near-term prospects, and personally develop longer-horizon relationships within assigned market segments. This is not a desk-only job. A portion of your first year is spent on the plant floor and alongside our customer experience and operations teams, because you can’t credibly sell copper tube without understanding how it’s made, how it’s ordered, and what customers actually call about. Responsibilities include: Opportunity Development Identifying, researching, and qualifying new business opportunities across assigned markets and segments. Evaluating opportunities for fit, timing, and account relevance, and prioritizing accordingly. Partnering with outside sales on near-term opportunities, providing the context needed for effective follow-up. Developing longer-horizon opportunities directly through sustained, professional outreach.
