Job Description: Senior Systems Engineer (Remote)   Work Location: 100% Remote | Equipment: Company computer provided | Background Check:  Required  | Paid Time Off: 3 weeks PTO | Benefits: Available upon conditional offer/letter of hire   Position Overview   PhoenixTeam is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support cross-functional delivery teams responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining  complex systems across federal IT modernization initiatives. This role provides technical leadership, ensures system reliability and scalability, and aligns engineering solutions with business and mission  objectives  in regulated environments.   Key Responsibilities   Design, develop, and   maintain   system architectures across applications, infrastructure, and platforms.   Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.   Analyze system requirements and translate them into scalable, secure solutions.   Ensure system performance, reliability, and availability through proactive monitoring and optimization.   Collaborate with developers, DevOps, security, and stakeholders to align system design with business needs.   Support integration of systems across environments and platforms.   Develop and   maintain   technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and system specifications.   Participate in Agile delivery processes and continuous improvement initiatives.   Required Qualifications   6+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, or related roles.   Strong experience with system architecture, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.   Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar).   Experience with infrastructure, networking, and system integration concepts.   Experience working in Agile environments.   Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).   Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)   Experience supporting federal government contracts or regulated environments.   Experience with Migrations  Experience with Ansible, Linux, RedHat Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.   Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.   Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure system design.   Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, or similar).   Work Environment & Benefits   100% Remote (U.S.-based).   Company computer equipment provided.   Three (3) weeks PTO.   Benefits available upon conditional offer.   Background check   required .   What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)   Establishes scalable and reliable system architectures aligned with project requirements.   Improves system performance and stability across environments.   Provides effective technical…
