A Day in the Life
The Underwriter III is responsible for evaluating and approving residential mortgage loans in accordance with company, investor, and regulatory guidelines, ensuring sound credit decisions, timely turnaround, and high-quality loan production. Some travel may be required.

What You’ll Be Doing
Underwrite Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan products in accordance with company, investor, and industry guidelines, maintaining a standard 24–48 hour turnaround time.
Analyze borrower credit profiles and issue sound credit decisions through review of financial statements, credit reports, and key ratios including DTI and LTV.
Evaluate and assess overall loan risk by reviewing property documentation, including purchase contracts, escrow instructions, and preliminary title reports.
Assign, review, and clear appropriate loan conditions to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and regulatory compliance, identifying and escalating documentation red flags as needed.
Assist in the restructuring of loan files to meet applicable lending and agency guidelines.
Research and interpret agency and investor guidelines to support underwriting decisions and condition sign-offs.
