We are currently seeking a Civil Designer in our Civil division at our Richmond, VA location with 2-5 years’ experience. A hybrid schedule is negotiable as in-office presence is preferred. The Civil Division at LaBella provides comprehensive Civil Engineering services for public and private clientele, including Municipal Code Review, Site Plan Permitting Applications, Construction Administration and development of construction documents. The Civil Designer will contribute to all phases of Civil Engineering projects including the development of design concepts, performing detailed calculations, collaborating with other engineers and technical staff during detail design, producing effective and high quality drawings and specifications, managing bid phases, and supporting projects through construction and final closeout. Minimum requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering or other supporting technical degree with 2 to 5 years of design experience. A PE license is not a requirement but is preferred. A FE certification is not a requirement but is also preferred. Design experience in Virginia required, District of Columbia and Maryland design experience preferred. VA DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Reviewer Certification a plus. VDOT Experience a plus. Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Microstation/InRoads and the ability to use either in designing utilities and grading is mandatory. Proficiency with HydroCAD, AutoTURN, Storm and Sanitary Analysis is necessary to satisfactorily complete the assignments of this position. Ideal candidates will have experience working with private, municipal, industrial, and/or institutional clients. Ideal candidates will have specific experience designing storm drain collection; sanitary collection and conveyance systems; storm water management systems including compliance with local county/municipal guidelines; stormwater management calculations/reports, pump stations; grading schemes; erosion and sediment control measures; and roadways. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated and possess a strong desire to satisfy clients.
