Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care services under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor or Med/Surg RN.
Qualifications:
Nursing Assistant with current Wisconsin Certification or the ability to obtain prior to the start date.
BLS certified.
Prefer 1 year Med/Surg or hospital experience.
Responsibilities include:
Observes, collects, and documents patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.
Assist patients with routine activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with ambulation as outlined in plan of care
Maintains an effective clinical work environment including but not limited to cleaning the work area, changing linens, maintaining and monitoring supply levels, and transporting patients / specimens throughout hospital.
Assist patients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge.
Provides care/ treatments to patients as outlined in plan of care including, but not limited to: Monitoring of vital signs
Measurement of height and weight
Specimen collection
Catheter care
Capillary blood glucose checks
Range-of-motion exercises
Drain care
Ensures competency in all required skills and completes competency assessment annually per the documented competency checklist.
