We are looking for a Commis Cook to support the Head and/or Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, assist with food preparation and service according to standards, maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, and contribute to a smooth, efficient workflow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
As the Commis Cook, we rely on you to:
Assist senior chefs in the preparation of menu dishes in assigned sections while ensuring quality and safety standards are met
Adhere to standard recipes and apply appropriate culinary techniques in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Prepare and assemble ingredients and kitchen equipment prior to service, based on instructions from senior chefs
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations and ensure proper handling and upkeep of equipment
Handle, label, and store food items in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage, temperature control, and stock rotation FIFO (First-In-First-Out)
Monitor stock levels, support inventory counts, and ensure sufficient ingredients and supplies for daily operations
Work closely with senior chefs to support overall kitchen operations, including guiding kitchen assistants where required
Any other duties as assigned
We are looking for someone who has:
Keen to learn and possesses a positive attitude towards culinary challenges
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, preparation, and procedures
Prior experience working in a pre-opening team would be advantageous
Work independently and good team player
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
Possess a strong understanding and execution of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
