The Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library is an innovative, articulate and resourceful Communications Manager. The Communications Manager serves as the Library's lead storyteller and communications strategist, creating and managing content that elevates the Library's mission, impact, and priorities. This role develops and manages engaging communications across digital, print, social media, and web platforms to advance organizational priorities, strengthen brand awareness, and highlight the Library's impact.

The AUC Woodruff Library supports the teaching and learning missions of three institutions of higher learning that comprise the world's largest consortium of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) - Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. What We Require for the Communications Manager Role:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Mass Communications or related fields
Five (5) years of communications experience in a library, museum, or nonprofit organization, with responsibility for executive communications, media relations, publications, special events communications, and brand stewardship
Demonstrated high-quality written communication and project management skills
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Supervises the Graphic Designer and Social Media Specialist, providing strategic direction, project oversight, and performance management
Key Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Storytelling & Communications: Shares the library's impact through compelling stories, publications, and strategic messaging.
Brand Management & Marketing: Advances awareness, engagement, and understanding of the library's mission, resources, and impact through consistent branding and strategic marketing.
Digital Content & Channels: Oversees the library's digital presence and content across web, social, and multimedia platforms.
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement: Cultivates meaningful connections with leadership, board members, partners, donors, and advocates.
Communications Assessment & Effectiveness: Measures communications outcomes and leverages insights to enhance strategy and performance
