Job Title: Content Quality Reviewer About Us: iFixit is the nexus of a global community showing people how to fix the things they own. We believe that we can make the world better by empowering people to take control of the things they own. We are the world's foremost experts in repair, and we've set the gold-standard for online repair documentation. Every day we help thousands of people fix their stuff, and we’re on a mission to help millions more. About the role: iFixit is building out repair manuals for thousands of products — the hub where people find repair guides, user manuals, troubleshooting help, and specs for the thing they're trying to fix. We're looking for detail-oriented reviewers to check product catalog, repair and troubleshooting content for accuracy, clarity, and usefulness. We draft information with AI tools using information sourced from manufacturer manuals. Your job is to make sure it's correct, helpful, and safe for real people to follow. This is focused, independent, repetitive work. If you like working through a queue, catching what others miss, and seeing a measurable impact on quality, this is a good fit. What you'll do: Review repair content against a structured scorecard (accuracy, completeness, clarity, helpfulness) Flag factual errors, unsupported claims, missing or wrong specs, and guidance that could be unsafe Cross-check content against the source user manual and other reference material Suggest corrections or rewrites where content falls short Log findings consistently so patterns can be fixed upstream Hit a steady daily/weekly review volume What we're looking for: You're a fixer — you've done your own repairs, know your way around a hardware store, and can spot when a step wouldn't work in real life An unusually broad understanding of the world of things, from the benefits of brushless motors to the nuances of oil viscosity Strong attention to detail — you notice the small stuff Ability to sit with a repetitive task and stay focused and consistent over long stretches Comfort reading technical documentation (service manuals, troubleshooting flow charts, wiring diagrams, and spec sheets) Clear, concise written communication Reliable, self-directed, and comfortable working with minimal supervision Basic proficiency with browser-based tools and spreadsheets Nice to have: Experience with QA, proofreading, editing, content moderation, data annotation, or similar review work Familiarity with consumer electronics, appliances, and hands-on repair Understanding of what makes web content useful (SEO or web publishing background) Prior experience evaluating AI-generated content Interest in iFixit's mission / right to repair Background on iFixit: We are the leading internet destination for repair, and the champions of the Right to Repair political movement. Our work is reshaping the electronics industry, and manufacturers are rapidly shifting to build repair supply chains. We’re…
