Performs various duties in preparation to provide meals and catered services for students and guests following established practices and methods. Must follow all recipes, production and service records in compliance with department, sanitation and safety standards. Responsibilities include serving guests and assisting in food production, stocking and rotating product, setting up and cleaning food production and service areas following proper sanitation standards. Responsibilities also include the use of a slicing machine, grill, fryolator, pizza oven, stir fry equipment and/or similar types of equipment.
Job Description
DAYS & HOURS:
Holy Cross Dining staff are considered Emergency Essential Personnel and are required to report during times of inclement weather. Must be flexible. Schedule may change depending on the needs of the department.
CURRENT SCHEDULE:
Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday / 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Tuesday / 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS POSITION
Prepares food items and cooks to order.
Follows exact menu and recipe specifications.
All menu items are consistent, properly portioned, checked to be that they are of the highest quality and they are served at the correct temperatures.
Able to work in all areas of the servery unassisted.
Offer daily training and guidance to the culinary assistants as needed.
Assures that the work area is set up, properly stocked, rotated, organized, clean, safe and fully functional at all times.
Sets up and cleans up food production areas.
Serves all guests when/if needed in a customer friendly and attentive manner.
Will be called upon to service, set-up and/or clean-up catered events as needed.
Accurately complete service records and inventory data for the FoodPro system.
Must be comfortable in working with special dietary restriction students. Seek guidance from management with questions.
Understands the importance of the food waste system. (Utilize FIFO)
Follows all state and local food safety guidelines.
Perform other similar or related duties as required or requested.

All documentation is recorded accurately and timely.
Follow all chemical guidelines according to the Material Safety Data Sheets.
Superior customer service and communications skills are needed to provide a welcoming, friendly and professional manner to all of our guests.
