We offer comprehensive paid training, generous benefits and time off plans, and a clear path for career advancement for motivated individuals ready to take on this important responsibility.   Corrections Deputies are required to be proficient with a side-arm, taser, and Oleoresin Capsicum, the use of emergency communication systems, the practical application of self-defense tactics, and unarmed physical control of adults in custody. Once you have mastered the basic duties of a Corrections Deputy, there are many special assignments you may choose to join through a competitive process. They include assignments in Classification, Close Street Supervision, Court Services, Transport Unit, Work Crew, Intelligence, and Life Safety. You may also choose to join a specialty team, such as the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), Corrections Emergency Response Team (CERT), Dive Team, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard or Peer Support . The average annual first year income for Entry-Level MCSO Corrections Deputies for Fiscal Year 2026:   $ 119,906 The average annual income includes Premium Pay.   Premium Pay: Overtime : 1.5 times the employee's regular hourly rate. Double time: All authorized work performed on the second day following the normal work week shall be paid for at the rate of 2 times the employee's regular hourly rate.
