Design Quality Control (DQC)
Role Overview
The Design Quality Control (DQC) professional is responsible for ensuring that all design outputs meet company standards, technical accuracy, client requirements, and cost efficiency before project execution. This role acts as a bridge between design, detailing, and execution teams to maintain high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design Quality Review
Review 2D drawings (layouts, elevations, sections) for accuracy and completeness
Ensure adherence to company design standards and guidelines
Validate dimensions, materials, and functional feasibility
2. BOQ & Costing Validation
Cross-check BOQ with approved designs
Ensure correct material specifications
Verify costing accuracy and avoid mismatches between design and budget
3. Technical Compliance
Ensure all designs follow technical standards
Check feasibility for production and installation
Identify and correct design errors before execution
4. Coordination & Communication
Work closely with Designers, DA team, and Production teams
Provide feedback and corrections to designers
Coordinate for design changes and approvals
5. Process & Documentation
Maintain DQC checklists and SOPs
Track project status using dashboards/trackers
Ensure all design files are properly documented and approved
6. Quality Assurance Before Handover
Conduct final design validation before production
Ensure no discrepancies between design, BOQ, and drawings
Approve designs for execution
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of interior design and modular systems
Expertise in 2D detailing and technical drawings
Good understanding of materials, hardware, and costing
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Team handling and coordination skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel/Google Sheets

Error-free design approvals
Reduction in site/design errors
BOQ accuracy
On-time project approvals
