Summary:
Methode Electronics is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Finance Intern – FP&A to support our financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis activities. This internship offers hands-on experience working with financial models, budgeting processes, business performance metrics, and executive-level reporting within a global manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and eager to develop practical finance skills while partnering with business leaders to drive data-informed decision-making. Exposure to advanced analytics and AI-powered tools used in modern financial planning environments will provide valuable experience in improving forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial models, forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range planning activities.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes through variance analysis and performance reporting.
Analyze financial results, including revenue, operating expenses, profitability, and key business drivers, to identify trends and insights.
Prepare management reports, dashboards, presentations, and executive summaries for leadership review.
Conduct cost, pricing, margin, and profitability analyses to support business decision-making.
Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to gather data and improve financial reporting processes.
Research market, industry, and macroeconomic trends to support strategic planning and forecasting initiatives.
Utilize data analytics and AI-powered tools to improve reporting efficiency, perform trend analysis, and enhance financial insights.
Assist in identifying opportunities to automate financial reporting, streamline workflows, and improve data accuracy.
Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses supporting corporate and business unit objectives.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and business data.
Understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and corporate finance principles.
