About the Role: The Dietary Aide plays a vital role in supporting the nutritional and dietary needs of residents within assisted living or healthcare facilities. This position ensures that meals are prepared, served, and delivered in a timely and sanitary manner, adhering strictly to dietary guidelines and infection control protocols. The Dietary Aide collaborates closely with kitchen staff, nursing personnel, and other team members to provide a positive dining experience that promotes the health and well-being of residents. Attention to detail and the ability to follow both written and oral instructions are essential to maintain compliance with food safety standards and individualized dietary plans. Ultimately, the Dietary Aide contributes to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment that enhances the quality of life for all residents served. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of food safety and infection control practices. Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately. Demonstrated patience and ability to relate positively with residents and team members. Previous experience in food service or assisted living environments is preferred but not required. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in food handling or dietary aide training. Experience working in assisted living or long-term care facilities. Familiarity with special dietary needs such as diabetic, low sodium, or allergen-free diets. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and resident needs. Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established dietary guidelines and resident preferences. Ensure all food handling and serving procedures comply with infection control and sanitation standards. Deliver meals to residents in a courteous and timely manner, accommodating special dietary needs and restrictions. Clean and sanitize dining areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils to maintain a hygienic environment. Collaborate with nursing and dietary staff to communicate resident needs and report any concerns related to food service or resident health. Follow all written and oral instructions carefully to ensure accuracy and safety in meal service. Work effectively as part of a team to support overall facility operations and resident satisfaction.
