Highways works closely with operational and delivery teams to provide specialist infrastructure services that support the safe and efficient operation of the UK’s road network.The team delivers a range of maintenance, drainage, and improvement works, helping to enhance network performance, minimise disruption to road users, and ensure highways assets remain safe, compliant, and resilient for the communities they serve. Role: Drainage Engineer Location: Andover, Hampshire. Hours: 50 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 6am-4pm. Purpose of the role: Working on a variety of different reactive contracts, you will be driving our gully wagons, working closely with an operative to clean along the highways. You will be working closely with a HGV driver to clean along the highways, up and down the country. You will be assisting with getting in and out of the cab to conduct work accordingly, so a hands on approach is needed and a willingness to get stuck in; and you will be responsible for using a company tablet on a daily basis. You will be outdoors for the majority of your working day - so a love for the great outdoors is also a must! Mixture of days, nights and working away! ESSENTIAL to consider this before applying. Key Responsibilities: You will be working closely in a team of 2 operating high specification jetting and vacumation units. Carry out remote CCTV investigations where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers. Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems. Liaising with customers. Updating electronical records. Ensuring safety issues are reported.
