IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Designer in Boston, MA, to assist with the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. You will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients.
You will support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, safety, and multidisciplinary coordination while helping deliver work for education clients. The team also supports institutional renovation work with an electrical-forward MEP profile, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do
Complete assigned engineering tasks of low to moderate complexity.
Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems, using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
Interact with clients to gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively.
Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
Support consulting-project execution as part of a project team, including project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks.
Document client design decisions and instructions while monitoring project design progress.
Analyze low to moderate complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions.
Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and electrical-engineering best practices, contributing to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
Prioritize safety by identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with electrical systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
What You'll Bring
Required Education
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Experience
1 year of experience minimum in the building design consulting industry required
Required Skills/Abilities
Developing proficiency of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Strong technical and analytical skills, including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems…
