POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Electrical Estimator is responsible for reviewing detailed drawings and specifications, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and preparing accurate proposals, bid packages, and cost estimates for large industrial and renewable energy construction projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the development of conceptual, detailed, and final estimates for renewable energy projects, including solar, battery energy storage systems, and substation and transmission lines.
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents specific to electrical scope.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and pricing strategies for complex electrical scopes.
Manage subcontractor and supplier solicitation, including bid leveling, scope review, and risk assessment.
Work closely with operations, project management, engineering, and leadership on pricing strategies and execution plans.
Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions during preconstruction.
Lead estimate reviews and present results to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing for key equipment and materials.
Support proposal development, including technical narratives and commercial submissions.
Maintain and improve estimating systems, databases, and processes.
Participate in client meetings, pre-bid meetings, and industry events.
Provide cost support throughout the project lifecycle, including change orders and cost control.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Mentor junior estimators and support overall team development.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
8+ years of construction estimating experience on large-scale renewable energy projects.
