Want to energize your career? You will work in a fast-paced environment where you will take a hands-on approach in helping a Federal Agency support its nationwide Physical Security Program Office (Program) by managing a testing and demonstration laboratory. You will have the opportunity to work on and deploy cutting edge solutions. Best of all, you’ll get to grow your experience working alongside smart people to solve problems that make the world a safer, more efficient place. I’ve never heard of CertiPath. What do you do? CertiPath is a trusted leader in high-assurance digital identity and access management solutions. Since 2004, we have helped commercial organizations and government agencies modernize how people securely access facilities, networks, and critical resources. With the stability of an established company and the agility of a growing technology business, we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth. Our mission is simple: enable secure, trusted access in an increasingly connected world. What will my responsibilities include as Electronic Security Engineer at CertiPath? Maintain a safe and orderly laboratory where equipment and prior test results can be obtained quickly. Install, configure, integrate, and update electronic security hardware and software (PACS, IDS, VMS, Intercom, Network). Evaluate new, emerging, and returned products for capability, limits, interoperability, maturity, Federal policy compliance, and fitness for Program use or reuse. Advise stakeholders on resulting changes to installation and configuration standards. Develop practical test methods for new product/configuration evaluation and conduct controlled experiments that produce meaningful, repeatable results. Analyze test results and produce evaluation reports, technical guides, and procedures explaining what was tested, how it was tested, what was learned, and any limitations or unresolved questions. Reproduce field-reported problems to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, cabling, power, configuration, and integration issues. Facilitate lab activities with manufacturers’ representatives to obtain technical information and resolve problems. Test PACS hardware and software components to ensure compliance with Federal security policies, standards and functional requirements. Maintain accurate equipment inventories, labels, diagrams, photographs, configuration records, and test documentation. Prepare equipment and test environments for Program stakeholder demonstrations and stakeholder reviews. Most of your time will be local to the DC area, but at the request of the Program, you’ll have the opportunity to travel up to 10% of the time outside the DC area to perform periodic validation of Physical Security installations performed by third parties and issue reports on findings.
