General Requirements Masters in Embryology Minimum 3 years of progressive clinical laboratory experience and laboratory operations post Masters in Embryology Experience in good technical practice in Embryology lab set up Strong interpersonal skills Proficiency in spoken and written English Experience in accredited laboratory is an advantage Job Specification Examination and dissection of surgical resection specimens, to select the most appropriate samples for microscope slides Perform IVF, artificial insemination, cryopreservation of embryos and embryonic transfer Set up filters, medias and supplies used during the collection of embryos Rinse, search, wash and accurately grade embryos according to protocols Discarded or freeze embryos according to the patient consent Monitor and fill nitrogen storage tanks when needed Perform oocyte searching and evaluation for IVF Monitor and record temperatures, CO2 reading, water level of incubator and other appropriate information Performs ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) & Conventional Insemination Maintain embryo inventories Complete documentation of patient information Prepare gametes and the environment for IVF and facilitation of fertilization Establish effective working relationships with the medical staff, administration, and other departments and services
