Position Overview Three Notch Group is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer I to support the preparation of high-quality, constructable engineering and design documents that contribute to successful project delivery. Working under the guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer, this entry-level role will assist with technical plans, reports, design and construction documents, studies, permits, cost estimates, and field activities while steadily developing technical proficiency and professional independence. The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer who is eager to apply classroom knowledge to real projects, collaborate with clients and internal teams, gain both office and field experience, and pursue continued professional development and engineering licensure. Primary Responsibilities Assist with client communication and attend client or public meetings as needed. Use computer-aided design tools and engineering software to prepare engineering plans, reports, design documents, and construction documents. Visit project and construction sites to monitor progress, collect information, and support project requirements. Contribute to project quality-control activities and take responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of assigned work. Define technical problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions under appropriate supervision. Read and interpret engineering and construction documents, governmental regulations, technical procedures, and applicable design standards. Assist with the preparation and modification of specifications, studies, permits, plans, reports, designs, quantity estimates, and construction cost estimates. Prepare design computations and project deliverables under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer, with increasing proficiency and independence. Communicate with project managers and practice leaders regarding assignments, schedule milestones, budgets, and project status.
