Our Engineering Boot Camp is a full-time Engineer I role paired with a structured training and development program built to accelerate your growth in the power industry. As a Boot Camp Engineer, you'll dive into focused classroom instruction led by seasoned Qualus engineers and industry experts, participate in immersive site visits, and gain hands-on substation safety and equipment training. You'll also receive guided preparation for the FE exam to help you build a strong technical foundation from day one. As a Relay Settings Engineer, you will work collaboratively with the Relay Settings Engineering team to design, specify, calculate, and coordinate protective relaying and relay control schematics to ensure that all relay settings activities, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the clients' design standards. The 2027 Engineering Boot Camp, powered by Qualus University, will be starting July 2027. As a program participant, you will receive an offer to be a full-time employee with Qualus. Responsibilities Design, specification, setting calculation, and coordination of protective relaying and relay control schemes. Modeling, short circuit and overstressed breaker studies as well as the protective relaying recommendations for proposed generation interconnections to a client’s electrical system. Ensures all relay settings activities, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the company’s established policies and objectives, and with client design standards. Present technical solutions to key customers respond in real time to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable, articulate manner. Work collaboratively with the appropriate groups/ individuals in Qualus to develop and implement technical solutions that support the objectives of the Engineering Department. Working on project teams supporting all quality and project management goals. Meeting all project deadlines and supporting the processes and procedures to meet deadlines. Maintaining up-to-date technical skills related to the design of electrical substations and protection and control schematics for the electric utility power grid through on-the-job work and formal training.
