The Impact You'll Make
As our Engineer, Laboratory Testing , you’ll turn laboratory measurements into engineering insights that help us understand, validate and improve the performance of our brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHE).
You’ll work hands-on with products used in refrigeration applications, including systems based on natural refrigerants such as propane (R290). Your role will go beyond running tests — you’ll analyze what the data tells us, draw engineering conclusions and help continuously improve how we test.
Your impact? From ensuring accurate measurements and developing new testing methods to improving laboratory automation and supporting new test rigs, you’ll help create a reliable testing environment that supports product development and better engineering decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Plan and perform laboratory testing of brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHE) for refrigeration applications, including systems using natural refrigerants such as R290, following standard procedures or customer-specific test requirements
Analyze measurement data and turn results into engineering insights, preparing detailed technical reports, conclusions and recommendations for development teams
Ensure high measurement quality and laboratory compliance by maintaining and calibrating equipment and working according to relevant standards and best practices, including AHRI, ISO, EN, ASME, PED and EHS requirements
Develop and improve testing capabilities by creating and updating SOPs, introducing new measurement methods and contributing to automation, higher test efficiency and improved measurement accuracy
Support the development and commissioning of new test rigs and collaborate with engineers and laboratory experts across international Danfoss locations on product development and testing projects
What We're Looking For
A Master’s degree in Thermal/Energy Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another relevant technical discipline
Practical experience in energy or process engineering and laboratory testing, combined with a good understanding of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics and data acquisition systems (DAQ)
Strong analytical and data skills — you can move beyond collecting measurements and turn raw test data into meaningful engineering conclusions and recommendations
Curiosity and interest in test automation and data analysis; experience with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW or similar tools is highly valued, while experience with flammable refrigerants such as propane and ATEX requirements is an advantage
A curious, reliable and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work in an international engineering environment and communicate confidently in English
What You'll Get from Us
Hands-on engineering work with real products, advanced laboratory equipment and refrigeration technologies, including natural refrigerants
