Enjoy an unbeatable beach side residential mine location, while working an 8/6 roster. You will join a team primarily responsible for all aspects related to stope production in the underground mine.   The Engineer – Mining is responsible for the delivery of technical engineering functions that support the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of the underground mine. The role is accountable for the preparation and management of production and development designs, short-term mine planning, ventilation planning, and the assessment and management of interactions with historic workings. Through the application of sound engineering principles and continuous improvement practices, the position ensures mining activities are planned and executed to optimise safety, productivity, resource recovery, and operational performance.   Key Tasks and Responsibilities Collaborate with the Senior Engineer – Mining (Underground) and Operations teams to develop and deliver weekly and monthly mine plans that support safe and efficient execution of production and development objectives. Develop, review and optimise designs to maximise operational efficiency, ore recovery. Review geological models and interpretations to ensure designs reflect current geological understanding. Incorporate geotechnical recommendations and operational constraints into production and development designs. Monitor drill and blast outcomes and implement continuous improvements to design standards and mining practices. Develop and review development designs in alignment with the life-of-mine and short-term plans, including probe drilling programs for historic workings investigations. Prepare and maintain short-term planning schedules, including rolling two-week plans. Lead the underground explosives management function, including forecasting, ordering, inventory control, auditing, and reporting. Develop and maintain short-term ventilation plans that support safe and efficient mining operations. Monitor underground execution of mining designs and provide technical guidance to operations personnel. Conduct underground inspections to verify compliance with approved designs and standards.= Perform all work and associated functions safely: A recognised degree in Mining Engineering or accepted equivalent. Full and current driver licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience in an underground mining environment.
