Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
As a Engineering Project Manager , you will lead low- to medium-complexity product development and manufacturing projects, with an initial focus on New Product Introduction initiatives supporting HSDC. You will coordinate engineering, operations, manufacturing, product development, and other stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will also help evaluate project value, manage risk, and ensure alignment with business and customer needs. The role may include leading cost-reduction initiatives based on business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage project plans, including scope, milestones, resources, budgets, risks, and business objectives; monitor progress and recommend adjustments when needed.
Lead cross-functional teams through product and process development, testing, evaluation, manufacturing implementation, and project launch.
Engage customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to clarify requirements, manage expectations, communicate progress, and resolve issues.
Build and maintain strong business cases by evaluating market needs, technical and manufacturing opportunities, cost targets, project risks, and expected financial impact.
Ensure project activities meet applicable safety, quality, delivery, intellectual property, and compliance expectations while using effective project management and continuous improvement practices.
