JOB SUMMARY Job Profile Summary The Environmental Professional III/IV (EP) serves as a senior technical leader responsible for establishing direction and promoting consistent environmental compliance across the Refined Product and Crude (RPC) segment. The EP leads regulatory engagement from initiation through resolution, independently directs audits and corrective actions, and applies sound technical judgment to address compliance matters while supporting business objectives and maintaining regulatory credibility. The role promotes accountability across cross-functional teams, translates complex environmental challenges into actionable strategies, and provides experienced leadership during time-critical situations. The EP also strengthens organizational capability through mentoring, training, and oversight of compliance systems. Responsibilities include waste management, SPCC/FRP, spill response, air permit compliance, water discharge permits, and project-related permitting, as well as effective collaboration and oversight of multiple compliance systems. The EP is expected to maintain a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal environmental regulations and standards and their application to operations.  Essential Functions and Responsibilities Provide mentoring to lower level employees on compliance system management, assisting with compliance requirements and organizational procedures and tools. Fully independent with a high level of decision rights and authority to execute responsibilities. Evaluate patterns and identify enhancement opportunities for data collection tools and templates in order to improve the accuracy and quality of data collected for environmental compliance and remediation systems. Provide subject matter expertise of compliance requirements and operating and construction parameters to answer questions regarding applicability of compliance systems. Develop internal audit protocols to support the evaluation of facilities. Lead representative in the evaluation and implementation of major emerging regulatory issues. Represent the company position in national Industry Associations or in support of the company Regulatory Issue Guideline. Analyze and develop corporate positions on applicability of environmental regulations for the organization and applicable operating assets and construction projects. Able to apply risk based analysis of compliance related to operations or construction practices. Recognize and resolve regulatory applicability issues. Institutionalize corporate positions within compliance systems to ensure repeatable compliance.
