Requirements:
Licensing: Valid Class 3 driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract.
Driving Experience: Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (or completion of an accredited truck driving school program).
Equipment Operation: Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy equipment regularly including a Landfill Compactor, Dozer, Excavator, and Rock Truck.
Safety Commitment: Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.
Reliability: Strong attendance record and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime when needed.
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Completion of a recognized heavy equipment course. Ability to obtain Landfill Operations Certification if needed.
Additional: Must be self-motivated and a reliable team-player. Ability to perform the four basic functions of math and to be able to read and understand the meaning of equipment gauges.
Responsibilities:
Safe Operation: Safely operate heavy equipment, assess incoming material for disposal to determine the contamination rates, determine when contamination levels are exceeded and communicate accordingly.
Safety Inspections: Perform inspection and maintenance checks of equipment daily. Grease/lubricate equipment, check and add fluids to equipment daily.
System Operations: Skillfully operate heavy equipment systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage. Clean trash and mud from tracks of heavy equipment by pulling and or cutting material away from tracks and gear mechanisms at least once daily or more frequently if needed.
