Description
Executive Assistant and Site Lead, Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ
About the Role
Blackboard is evolving. We are the originator of the learning management system, and our next chapter will redefine it. We are seeking an anchor Executive Assistant to support our leadership team and new primary office in Phoenix.
For executive support: you will run the calendars, travel, and follow-up for the Executive Team leaders you support and have their full trust. As our Phoenix office opens in 2027, you will be the person who owns making it a great work environment.
What Y o u Will D o
Master the calendars. Ensure executives spend their time effectively. Protect the time that matters, decline what does not, and make the tradeoffs visible rather than silent.
Carry our Executive voice. Speak authoritatively on behalf of our Executive team as you coordinate with our stakeholders, partners, and connections we make along the way.
Handle the logistics completely. Travel, expenses, approvals, and the hundred small things that eat into our executives' weeks, without reminders and by overcoming any obstacles gracefully.
Be the heart of our office. Work with Facilities, IT, Security, and the People team through fit-out, furniture, badge access, technology, and the move-in, and run the place once it is open. Own the moments that make an office a place rather than a building. Our office should have a feel, and you will shape it. Candidates, customers, partners, and board members will form an impression of Blackboard in their first moments through the door.
Participate in our evolution. Use artificial intelligence to take the repetitive parts of this job off your plate. Scheduling, briefing documents, expense handling, follow-up tracking. We would rather you spend your time on the things only a person can do.
What S uccess L ooks L ike
First ninety days. You know the executives you support well enough to anticipate them rather than react. Calendars and travel run without friction. You have a working relationship with Facilities, IT, and the People team, and you are in the site decisions rather than hearing about them afterward .
Before the doors open. A move-in plan that holds. Vendors selected and contracted. Space, technology, and access sorted before anyone needs them. A clear plan for the first month in the building, including what we do on day one.
Opening. People walk in and it works. Nothing about the first week feels improvised.
First year in the building. Visitors leave with a sense of the culture of Blackboard. The executives you support no longer think about logistics at all. You are telling us where we need to focus next.
Required Skills and Experience
You anticipate. You have spent enough time around executives to know what is coming before it arrives, and you have the judgment to act without checking first.
You are trusted with things you cannot repeat. Discretion is not a policy you follow, it is…
