Position Summary: The Fabrication Supervisor leads day-to-day fabrication operations across three shifts to achieve production, quality, delivery, safety, and cost objectives. This role plans and prioritizes work, optimizes labor , equipment, and workflow, and provides hands-on technical guidance to ensure consistent execution and timely resolution of operational issues. The Supervisor drives continuous improvement, a sense of urgency, and operational excellence standards and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Essential Functions: Lead day-to-day fabrication operations to achieve production and shipping plans while meeting ISO 9000, CMD quality, safety, delivery, and cost standards. Plan and prioritize work to optimize labor, equipment utilization, workflow, and throughput, and provide design-for-manufacturability feedback. Lead daily execution, analyze capacity, and implement recovery plans upon delay. Coach and develop direct reports to safely operate, set up, and troubleshoot laser-cutting systems, CNC equipment, press brakes, welding equipment, tooling, and fixtures, and to accurately interpret drawings, specifications, and tolerances for fabricated metal assemblies. Conduct routine stand ups to communicate workload, priorities, handoffs, and risks. Support the development of the fabrication budget, monitor expenditures, and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency. Support capital improvements within the department, coordinating with external contractors and vendors and internal stakeholders to meet established scope, schedule, quality, and budget requirements. Drive continuous improvement efforts from the ground up, empowering employees to seek gains in efficiency and quality and to own mistakes and take corrective action. Ensure fabrication operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including permitting, commercial land use, waste management, environmental practices, and logistics. Establish and monitor key performance indicators and provide regular reports on production activities and performance, risks, and corrective actions. Lead fabrication personnel, including workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, technical training, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
