Faculty – Computer Science
Position Objective
The Computer Science Faculty is responsible for driving learner success across Computer Science, Programming, Software Development, Data Structures, Algorithms, Databases, Web Technologies, and related technology programs through consistent engagement, academic support, and timely interventions.
The role focuses on improving learner outcomes, ensuring course completion, strengthening technical and problem-solving skills, and enhancing the overall learning experience in a self-paced online learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
The faculty member serves as the primary academic point of contact for learners, helping them understand Computer Science concepts, strengthen programming skills, complete practical assignments, build software projects, and remain motivated throughout their learning journey.
* Take end-to-end ownership of learner success, ensuring consistent engagement and timely course completion.
* Conduct learner orientation and induction sessions covering LMS navigation, course structure, assessments, project expectations, and learning timelines.
* Monitor learner progress against defined milestones and proactively follow up on pending assignments, projects, assessments, and learning activities.
* Identify at-risk learners using engagement and performance metrics and implement timely interventions to improve learner outcomes.
* Provide academic guidance on Computer Science concepts, programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, databases, software development, and related technical subjects.
* Support learners in understanding programming concepts and applying them to practical problems and real-world use cases.
* Review coding assignments, case studies, software projects, and practical assessments and provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback.
* Conduct doubt-clearing sessions, technical mentoring sessions, office hours, coding sessions, and project reviews to strengthen learner understanding.
* Guide learners on programming best practices, debugging, version control, GitHub, code documentation, testing, and software development practices.
* Encourage learners to build portfolio-ready software and technology projects aligned with academic and industry expectations.
* Guide learners in developing problem-solving, logical reasoning, computational thinking, and programming skills.
* Support learners with database concepts, SQL, APIs, web technologies, software engineering principles, and other relevant Computer Science topics.
* Ensure adherence to academic integrity, plagiarism policies, responsible technology practices, and institutional guidelines.
* Plan and execute learner engagement initiatives such as webinars, coding workshops, programming challenges, hackathons, technical demonstrations, discussion forums, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
