About the Role
We are currently looking for a Field Data Coordinator to fill a newly created role, and join our Research and Innovation team. The Field Data Coordinator will serve as a key point for Semex field data initiatives, helping drive actions and follow-through across farm data access, data quality, analysis, and reporting. The job holder will work closely with R&I, Analytics, Operations, and other internal stakeholders, as well as field contacts, producers, herd managers, and external data providers, to improve the volume, quality, continuity, and timeliness of field data, interpret results, and translate findings into practical insights that support operational decision-making.
What You Will Do:
Develop and maintain relationships with partner herds that align with Semex field data priorities and identify opportunities to expand data coverage.
Coordinate herd recruitment, onboarding, participation, timelines, and follow-up with producers, field teams, and data providers.
Monitor incoming field and reproductive data for quality, continuity, and timeliness.
Identify missing, delayed, or inconsistent records and coordinate practical resolution with herd, field, and technical contacts.
Maintain herd records, contact history, participation status, data-source information, breeding volumes, quality indicators, targets, and outstanding actions.
Develop and maintain an annual field data acquisition plan that identifies data gaps, priority herds, new data opportunities, expected outcomes, and required actions.
Support the addition of new herds, herd-management platforms, and data sources.
Analyze field data, identify trends, gaps, and emerging issues, and translate findings into clear, practical insights for internal teams and field partners.
Support cloud-based tracking, reporting, and dashboard tools that provide access to descriptive statistics and key data metrics.
Lead practical improvements to herd engagement, data collection, data flow, analysis, and reporting processes.
What You Need to Succeed:
Diploma or degree in animal science, agriculture, dairy science, agribusiness, data analytics, data management, or a related field.
Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple herds, contacts, activities, and timelines.
Strong understanding of field data, with the ability to analyze and interpret results using farm records, spreadsheets, databases, reporting systems, and data-quality processes.
