Main Responsibilities
Ensures the Accuracy, Reliability, Completeness, and Integrity of the Data relating to the General Ledger, and overall responsibility for Finalization of monthly accounts as per requirements of local statutory laws and international accounting standards [IFRS]
Leading timely and accurate monthly closing for all territories including Head office. Finalization of Trial Balance to enable Finance Service Center (FSC) Team, finance teams and cross-functional teams to submit results to Corporate Office. Support cross functional teams with any kind of management reporting
Responsible for Balance Sheet review, including Bank Reconciliations at corporate level. Ensuring all relevant breakdowns are available readily for decision making
Identification of Risks & Opportunities well in time; collaborating with Finance Manager and taking corrective actions where necessary
Responsible for Risk Profiling and Management, Insurance coverage of all Company’s assets in coordination with Corporate Office and ensuring coverage of all other risks at reasonable optimized cost. Negotiate company’s insurance policies and oversee the claims submission process to ensure loss control measures are being adhered to
Review of payroll related expenses for posting and ensuring timely payment of payroll related items such as employee funds, EOBI & tax payments is made
Leading the process of proper review of tax books and reviewing tax related calculations (income / deferred tax) keeping in line with local taxation laws.
Works collaboratively with Finance Manager on annual independent audit and other compliance audits to ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with laws as well as accounting standards set forth by the company.
Supporting in implementation of any Business Process change/improvements in the areas of accounts, systems, and operations
Maintains accounting controls by establishing and aligning chart of accounts and cost center reporting with Group Office; defining accounting policies and procedures
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex accounting transactions; guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues
Ensure compliance of Company’s policies and SOPs for Books of Accounts and support Finance Manager in review and preparation of Financial Statements
Perform authorities as delegated by local chart of authority; Approval of POs, Employee final settlement, signatory of cheques, etc.
Inspire other team members and acts as an advisor/consultant to Finance Manager; identify, groom, train, and mentor a Successor of the position for the continuation of leadership and smooth functioning of this role
Candidate Education
CIMA, ACCA, ACA Certificate (desirable); or equivalent with 4-6 years of experience
