Full Stack Developer (Java & Angular)

We are looking for an experienced  Full Stack Developer (Java & Angular) to join our team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining modern, scalable web applications, working across both front-end and back-end technologies.  This role offers the opportunity to work in an agile environment using modern technologies, cloud platforms, and engineering best practices while contributing to mission-critical services used by thousands of users. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot and Angular. Build responsive, accessible and user-centric web applications. Develop and consume RESTful APIs and microservices. Contribute to solution design, technical architecture and estimation activities. Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices. Perform unit, integration and system testing to ensure solution quality. Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps ways of working. Contribute to technical discussions, innovation initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities. Essential Skills & Experience Proven commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer. Strong experience developing applications using Java and the Spring Boot/Spring Framework ecosystem. Strong experience developing modern web applications using Angular . Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 . Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs . Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems. Experience with automated testing , unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD). Experience with version control systems such as Git . Experience working within Agile delivery teams using Scrum or Kanban. Experience with application servers and containers such as Tomcat . Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Desirable Skills Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP . Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift . Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices. Experience delivering solutions within the UK public sector or GDS-aligned environments. Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security principles. Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
