Our Direct Lending business is growing, and our Fund Finance team is growing with it. Direct Lending Fund V has just closed at more than €15 billion, more than double its predecessor, and with DLF VI to follow, we're looking for an experienced fund accountant to join us as Fund Controller.
The Role
You'll sit at the heart of our Direct Lending platform, working closely with the Direct Lending Senior Fund Controller and colleagues across London and Luxembourg. Your focus will be Direct Lending, but the role reaches across all of Hayfin's Private Credit strategies, so you'll see how a multi-strategy manager works.
Day to day, that means being the person who really understands the numbers. You might review a quarterly NAV before it goes to investors, instruct a drawdown notice, talk a valuation through with the Valuation Committee, or work with the auditors to get year end over the line. You'll oversee our Fund Administrators and other external partners in the UK, Luxembourg and the US, and you'll help us keep improving how we work, from tighter controls to automation.
Responsibilities
Reviewing and approving monthly and quarterly NAVs and investor reporting prepared by our third-party Fund Administrators, and overseeing the service they provide
Reviewing and instructing the release of investor drawdown and distribution notices
Reconciling intra-month P&L and performance metrics for internal reporting
Working with Fund Administrators, FX counterparties, auditors and AIFMs across the UK, Luxembourg and the US, and with our internal and external operations teams to keep portfolio data accurate
Monitoring adherence to the funds' FX hedging policy
Managing the annual audit cycle with the fund auditors, and reviewing the annual financial statements
Supporting quarterly asset valuations and liaising with Valuation Committee members
Supporting the onboarding of new funds and managed accounts, Solvency II reporting, and materials for the quarterly Advisory Board and Risk Committee meetings
Supporting Investor Reporting with timely query resolution, and the corporate team with fund recoverable expenses, management fees and internal reporting on AUM and returns
Keeping our financial processes in line with best practice, working with Risk, Legal and Compliance as regulations change, and using systems to automate, streamline and document our controls
Requirements
You've built your career in fund accounting or fund finance, and you're ready to take on more ownership. You'll understand how private funds work behind the numbers, and you'll be comfortable challenging an administrator when something doesn't look right.
You're likely to have:
A full accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and exposure to financial services, ideally investment funds, gained in practice or an in-house finance team
Experience of IFRS financial reporting for investment funds (Lux GAAP experience is a plus)
Familiarity with Luxembourg and Cayman private…
