Key Responsibilities ●Own the P&L and overall commercial performance of the company in Uganda, building the business from its current base. ●Design and execute the go-to-market strategy, including brand building, marketing campaigns and channel development for Uganda's key crops — coffee, maize, sunflower, beans, banana and horticultural crops. ● Run a dual-track channel strategy: (1) build and manage a nationwide agro-dealer and distributor network reaching smallholder farmers; (2) develop direct key-account relationships with commercial farms, coffee estates, cooperatives and outgrower schemes. ● Secure and grow strategic accounts in the coffee and maize value chains, supported by a credible local technical service capability. ● Recruit, lead and develop the local team — including market development & customer service staff, warehouse & logistics management, and agronomists. ● Oversee supply chain management into Uganda (including imports via Mombasa/Dar es Salaam corridors) and lead the design of the local warehousing solution (self-built vs. professional third-party logistics). ● Drive and maintain the company's product registration portfolio in Uganda as a core market asset. ● Act as the primary interface between the Ugandan operation and the Board of Directors; travel frequently between Uganda and China. Requirements Candidate Requirements ● Ugandan national (open to all genders, ethnicities, religions and cultural backgrounds). ● Approximately 10–15+ years of professional experience, ideally aged 35–45, combining solid experience with the energy to build a business. ● Proven experience in sales, logistics or distribution network management, with a strong understanding of how agricultural inputs are delivered and distributed in Uganda. ● Demonstrated team-building and people-management capability — able to build and lead a local team. ● Fluency in English (working language with headquarters); proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a strong advantage. ● Willingness to travel frequently between Uganda and China. ● Background in agrochemicals, crop protection, fertilizers, coffee, maize or other plantation/smallholder agriculture is advantageous but not mandatory; strong commercial profiles from other sectors are equally welcome.
