Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder to join our commercial construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience welding various types of piping systems and must successfully pass a 6G weld certification test. This role requires precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
Perform welding on commercial piping systems
Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols
Execute high-quality welds using processes such as SMAW (stick), GTAW (TIG), and/or MIG as required
Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and fitting pipes to specifications
Inspect welds to ensure they meet industry standards and project requirements
Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition
Follow all safety regulations and job site protocols
Collaborate with supervisors, pipefitters, and other trades to complete projects efficiently
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Must pass a 6G pipe welding certification test (required)
2+ years of experience as a pipe welder in commercial or industrial construction
Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS)
Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred Education and Experience
Current welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent)
OSHA safety training (e.g., OSHA 10 or 30)
Preferred 5 years of experience as a pipe welder in commercial or industrial construction
Travel Requirements
May require overtime, weekends, and travel depending on project needs
