Overview The Work The Voice Data Communication Engineer, SME will provide technical direction, engineering expertise, and support across a variety of communication domains, including the planning, designing, development, installation, testing, and maintenance of large communications networks. This entry-level position will allow you to leverage foundational skills while gaining hands-on experience and professional growth within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Network Design & Development: Assist in planning, designing, and developing large-scale voice and data communications networks to meet performance, security, and scalability requirements. Installation & Infrastructure Support: Participate in the installation and deployment of voice/data communication systems, ensuring adherence to organizational and industry standards. Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of communication network components to ensure reliable functionality and optimal performance. Maintenance: Support the maintenance and repair of network infrastructure, addressing and resolving issues to ensure uninterrupted operation of communication systems. Technical Documentation: Assist in preparing detailed documentation, network configurations, and system procedures to support ongoing operations and future upgrades. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional technical teams to coordinate activities and implement communication solutions that align with business needs. Industry Best Practices: Apply engineering knowledge to meet organizational goals while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Ensures that adequate and appropriate planning is provided to direct building architects and planners in building communications spaces and media pathways meet industry standards. Develops, operates, and maintains voice, wireless, video, and data communications systems. Provides complex engineering or analytical tasks and activities associated with one or more technical areas within the communications function. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications – Here’s What You Need Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience may be considered. At least 10 years of relevant work experience in voice/data communications engineering is preferred but not required for candidates with certifications and strong technical aptitude.
