We have an exciting opportunity for 2 highly skilled Highways Site Engineers to join a busy Highways Development Management team in the beautiful county of Gloucestershire. As a Highways Site Engineer, you will take on a vital role, undertaking comprehensive site-based inspections and assessing technical assurance of highway and transport infrastructure works under Sections 38, 278 and 184 of the Highways Act (1980). You will work across Gloucestershire to ensure developer led infrastructure is constructed to the highest standards. Ensuring that only suitable assets are adopted to be maintained by the Local Authority. This will be done by providing technical site assurance and inspections, construction monitoring and risk management, providing technical advice and engaging with relevant stakeholders, monitoring compliance with Health and Safety, working collaboratively with Street works to assess Traffic Management and Network Impact, self-managing your workload and providing constructability feedback to engineers for technical assessment whilst also providing mentoring responsibility to developing members of the team. You will be responsible for inspecting the development works in your designated Districts although you may be required to work anywhere within the County if required. You will have experience of working within CDM regulations, Road Safety Audits, Traffic Regulations and NRSWA and be familiar with related guidance and legislation such as GCC Technical Specification for New Streets, Manual for Streets, DMRB, TSRGD, LTN1/20, Tactile Paving Surfaces, Kerbing and SuDS.
