The Educational Coach is responsible for providing coaching to Education staff within the Head Start program in Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms to strengthen instructional skills, as well as teacher-child interactions. Weekly travel to three counties will be required. An agency vehicle will be provided for travel. A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education is required. Training and/or experience in Practice-Based Coaching is preferred. Assists the program in ensuring compliance with performance standards, licensing, and all funding source requirements. Specific Requirements Knowledge: Professional knowledge of Early Childhood Education, CLASS, instructional practices, classroom management, coaching, and adult learning. Leadership: Provides leadership to teaching staff. Supervisory: N/A Language: English Guidelines: CLASS, Head Start Performance Standards, DECAL rules, Pre-K requirements, Agency policies. Complexity: Highly complex; requires strong analytical skills. Scope: Monitors and follows up on Head Start, Pre-K, DECAL, and Agency standards. Environment: Work performed in center settings. Contacts: Interacts with all levels of employees and stakeholders. Physical: Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs without assistance. Travel: Daily travel to assigned centers; some overnight travel.
