With a skilled workforce across manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, supply chain and support functions, the site offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a highly technical environment The Opportunity We are now recruiting for an Instrumentation Technician. As an Instrumentation Technician at our Wyke site, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and effective maintenance of plant control and instrumentation systems across our upper-tier COMAH facility. Reporting to the EC&I Supervisor, you will support the safe and efficient operation of production assets by delivering high-quality planned, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities. Your expertise will directly contribute to plant availability, process safety, and overall operational performance. You will be supported through personalised on-the-job training, coaching, mentoring, and twice-yearly development and performance reviews, helping you maintain and further develop your skills, competence, and contribution to the business. Ensure all Control & Instrumentation maintenance activities (routine, corrective, shutdown, and breakdown) are executed with appropriate Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and in compliance with the Permit-to-Work system. Maximise plant equipment availability through the effective use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including Oracle EAM, to manage planned and reactive maintenance activities. Maintain and support Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Fire and Gas Detection Systems, Emergency Shutdown (ESD) Systems, and associated cause-and-effect logic. Ensure compliance with inspection regimes, flange management standards, and company-defined maintenance strategies. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Production, Engineering, Projects, and external service providers to deliver optimal maintenance outcomes.
